Engine 745 The Old Engine from Audubon Park ~ ~ ~ With many, many thanks to Blair Kullman ("Blair on the Air"), who shared the photos below of refurbished Engine 745. Many New Orleanians have fond childhood memories of playing aboard this engine at its former home in Audubon Park. Southern Pacific 745 is the last surviving steam locomotive made in Louisiana. It was built in New Orleans in 1921 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. |
